Replacing Spaghetti Western in a spot that once, in the 1930s, housed a restaurant called John Maxwell's, Maxwell’s Bar and Restaurant has got all the classic touches of earlier, more respectable times. A partition separates a refinished wooden bar (for lunchtime sidecars and happy-hour pints) from a dining area with reading-lamp-equipped booths that offer a little more comfort and privacy than your average joint.
